What it is – What it offers

What Botox is

The perception of botulinum toxin in modern Plastic Surgery has changed significantly. It is no longer just a method for the temporary reduction of expression lines, but an anti-ageing treatment for a fresh and youthful face. In the hands of a specialised plastic surgeon, botulinum toxin becomes a beauty tool that restores the freshness lost over time, while also delaying the appearance of new signs of ageing.

By applying a holistic technique across the whole of the face and neck, at Beauty by Design the treatment goes beyond the limits of local correction. Our goal is a discreet rejuvenation that rests the face, "opens" the gaze, smooths the texture, banishes the "sadness", improves lift, and aims for a natural, refreshed look.

Treatment areas

Areas where it is applied

The injectable treatment with Botulinum Toxin is applied to the muscles whose contraction, when we express ourselves intensely, leads to the formation of wrinkles. The treatment blocks the mobility of these muscles and thus prevents the appearance of wrinkles on the overlying skin. The areas where Botulinum Toxin is applied are:

  • Forehead
  • Glabella (frown lines)
  • Around the eyes (crow's feet)
  • Upper nose (bunny lines)
  • Upper lip
  • Marionette lines
  • Jawline contour
  • Neck bands
  • Chin

Beauty by Design

Precision in application, naturalness in the result.

Every treatment is designed individually — the dose, injection points and number of areas are selected based on each patient's anatomy and wishes.

How the treatment is performed

The Botulinum Toxin application process step by step.

The treatment is personalised and is carried out after an anatomical assessment, careful planning and after the patient's expectations have been discussed.

01

Expression analysis

The doctor evaluates the indication, medical history and characteristics of the area before determining the individualised treatment plan.

02

Marking the injection points

The plastic surgeon precisely marks on the skin the points at which injections will be made, ensuring symmetry and naturality.

03

Microinjections

The specialist calculates the units of botulinum toxin required in each area and proceeds with the injection using fine microneedles — the procedure is quick, with only mild discomfort.

04

Recovery instructions

Clear and detailed instructions are given for the first hours and days, so that recovery progresses smoothly.

Preparation before treatment

What to do before your Botulinum Toxin treatment.

To avoid the risk of bruising and to support a good result, follow these guidelines for 5–7 days before treatment:

  • Avoid anticoagulants and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) — aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac
  • If you need pain relief, prefer paracetamol
  • Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours beforehand
  • If you arrive at the clinic wearing make-up, the skin will be carefully cleansed before treatment

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about botulinum toxin.

On average, muscle movement returns approximately 4–5 months after treatment. At this point, the procedure can be repeated.

Yes. If the treatment is carried out by younger individuals, it can work preventively to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. A few units of Botulinum Toxin are sufficient to prevent the skin from "creasing".

No. After a number of treatments, usually 3–4, the interval between them increases, as the movements of the muscles that cause wrinkles are reduced.

There is no single specific age, as the need is individualised. Most patients begin preventively or correctively between 30 and 35 years of age, when the first fine expression lines are beginning to become visible at rest.

The treatment must be performed by a specialised doctor using certified medical materials approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

Start with a personal consultation.

Discuss with the doctor your needs, goals and available options, so that a safe and personalised plan can be designed.

Results vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed. Suitability for any treatment is determined by the doctor after a personal consultation.
