Overview

Lip Lift for natural enhancement, volume and overall rejuvenation of the area

A lip lift is a popular minor procedure aimed at the aesthetic enhancement of the upper lip. Over time, the skin between the nose and the mouth lengthens, causing the upper lip to roll inward, thin and hide the teeth. By reducing the distance between the lip and the base of the nose, the upper lip is gently reversed, naturally "fills" and regains its youthful vitality and symmetry. It is a suitable solution for a harmonious face, restoring balanced anatomical distances (12–14mm from the nose to the lip) and allowing the slight, attractive projection of the upper teeth.

What it corrects

When can lip lifting help?

The procedure offers immediate remodelling of the area around the mouth. It offers significant benefits in the following cases:

  • Large nose-to-lip distanceReduces the elongated skin that often appears with ageing or is congenital.
  • Lack of volume & 'hidden' lipReveals the vermilion border of the upper lip, providing natural volume without fillers.
  • Lip asymmetryEnhances uniformity and balance between the upper and lower lip.
  • Smoker's linesContributes to the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles on the upper lip.

Beauty by Design

Natural proportion, a more expressive smile.

Upper lip lift enhances the natural lip contour for a balanced, subtle result.

Preparation before the procedure

Preparation before the procedure

Preparation involves a detailed consultation and measurement of your facial proportions by the plastic surgeon. It is recommended to stop smoking and consuming alcohol for a period before and after surgery, as well as to avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications or aspirin to support good healing.

Technique

How lip lifting is performed step by step

01

Measurements & Planning

Dr Pallantzas performs precision millimetre measurements in the area, designing the exact shape of the skin to be removed.

02

Creating the Incision

A very small incision is made exactly at the base of the nose (bullhorn type), so that the future mark is hidden in the natural folds of the nostrils.

03

Removal & Lifting

The excess skin is gently removed and the tissues are gradually lifted upward, revealing the natural volume of the lip.

04

Closure

The incision is closed with very small, careful sutures to support good healing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about lip lift.

A lip lift corrects the structure, position and nose-to-lip distance without adding foreign material. Fillers add volume temporarily, but cannot address sagging or a large anatomical distance.

Yes. In many cases, once healing from the Lip Lift is complete and the lip is in its correct, youthful position, the plastic surgeon can use a small amount of hyaluronic acid to further enhance the lips, enhancing shape, projection and hydration.

Usually not: the excess skin is removed and the result is usually long-lasting. The face will continue to follow the natural ageing process, but the anatomical distance gained with the Lip Lift usually remains.
