What it is & what it offers

Facelift with the modern SMAS method for a natural-looking result

Face lifting (facelift) is a surgical solution for treating sagging and tissue descent of the face and neck. The goal of the procedure is not simply to "stretch" the skin, but to deeply rebuild the underlying tissues, giving the face a firm, youthful and rested appearance without altering the natural features and expression.

The procedure targets the treatment of the signs of time in the mid and lower third of the face. It offers significant benefits in the following cases:

  • Deep nasolabial foldsSoftens the deep wrinkles that form between the nose and mouth.
  • JowlsRestores the line and youthful contour of the face.
  • Temporal & zygomatic wrinkles and saggingRestores lost volume and firmness to the cheeks.

Beauty by Design

Natural renewal, without excess.

Facelift restores facial contours by repositioning deeper tissues, correcting the visible signs of ageing while preserving natural expression.

Pre-operative preparation

How to prepare for facelift SMAS.

A thorough consultation session is essential for the patient to understand what face lifting offers. Before surgery a pre-operative assessment is carried out (blood tests etc.). The patient must inform the doctor of any allergies and medications. Cessation of smoking is required (usually 1 month before and 1 month after) and avoidance of alcohol. Due to the anaesthesia, fasting from food and water for at least 6–8 hours before the procedure is mandatory.

The Procedure

How facelift is performed step by step

01

Anaesthesia

Performed under general anaesthesia.

02

Incisions

Incisions are planned with precision to be hidden within the hairline and in the natural fold around the ear, making them discreet.

03

SMAS Reconstruction & Tissue Management

The surgeon removes excess fat, repositions the underlying tissue and lifts the muscles via the SMAS (superficial musculo-aponeurotic system). Support is anchored in the deep layers, aiming for discreet scars on the skin.

04

Closure

Excess skin is removed and incisions are closed with fine sutures. After the procedure the patient is asked to wear an elastic bandage.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about facelift.

The goal of a modern face lift is natural renewal and the restoration of freshness, not altering your facial identity. With modern techniques (such as SMAS facelift), the intervention goes deeper into the tissues and muscles that have become lax, not just the skin. This helps avoid the unwanted "pulled" look, and the face looks rested while retaining its natural expressions.

The appropriate procedure for correcting neck laxity is the necklift (neck lifting). However, since in the majority of cases facial sagging coexists with neck sagging, the two procedures are performed together. In this way, the incisions extend discreetly behind the ear, allowing total tissue lifting, reduction of jowl laxity and restoration of a unified, youthful contour from the cheeks to the neck.

The incisions are designed with exceptional care and are hidden in the natural skin folds and at the ear aperture (inside or around the tragus), as well as within the hairline. Over months and with proper healing, these fine lines mature and become less noticeable.
