What is GentleMax Pro?
It is a state-of-the-art new generation system for treating hair growth and other dermatological problems.
Why should I do it?
It incorporates two different types of laser together, GentleLase Alexandrite (755nm) and GentleYAG Nd:YAG (1046nm) for a safe, fast and effective hair removal on all skin types. It has a built-in cooling mechanism and variable pulse duration for multiple applications.
How it works
With the method of selective photothermolysis, the energy from Laser Alexandrite targets the melanophore cells of the hair and with a wavelength of 755nm, is selectively absorbed to the maximum by melanin, the pigment that gives color to hair.
The subsequent increase in temperature in the hair follicles results in the destruction of the cells responsible for their regrowth, without damaging the epidermis and surrounding tissue.
The Nd:YAG Laser is more specialized and targets hormone-dependent areas and scattered individual hairs. It has the unique ability to detect intense black hairs without affecting natural fluff.
It has an automatic dynamic skin cooling mechanism, where the coolant (cryogen) is sprayed on the skin, cooling its uppermost layers. Candela holds a Worldwide exclusivity, on this model.

How many sessions are required?
Number of sessions cannot be precisely defined and as is not the same for all patients. It depends on several factors, such as, the phase of hair growth, its color and thickness of the hair, the color of the skin and the area of application.
On average, in non-hormone dependent areas, 8 sessions are needed, spaced between 35-40 days apart. In hormone-dependent areas, such as belly line, arms etc, the number of sessions vary depending on the case.
How often should treatment be repeated?
For hair removal to be effective, the hair follicles must be in the growing stage. Therefore, the treatment should be repeated every 35-40 days.
